Have you bought a flight, hotel or holiday package from Ebookers.com and do you need to cancel it now? You may not always be able to cancel your reservation- this will depend on who your travel provider is and their terms & conditions. To find out whether you can cancel your reservation, you should check the rules and regulations of the travel service provider sent with you booking confirmation.  If you are permitted to cancel your holiday package you must call Ebookers directly at (+44) 020 3788 4829. For cancelling a hotel room you must go online and go to “manage my hotel”. 

If you can cancel your Ebookers trip, you will have to pay cancellation fees charged by Ebookers, Expedia or the various travel providers. Expedia charges specific cancellation fees which are outlined in the table below. These fees will be charged per person if the cancellation or change affects more than one person in the reservation. 

Can I make changes to my Ebookers Reservation?

If you wish to make changes to your holiday package, flight or hotel room, it is important to know that there is no guarantee that you will be able to make such changes. If you are permitted to make changes to the date of travel, the destination, the starting place of the trip, the accommodation or the transportation, the Lead Customer will have to call (+44) 020 3788 4829 or go to the Itineraries section of the website to make changes. Usually, making these changes is not allowed as package holidays work with multiple travel providers that all have different cancellation and change policies. To check whether you are able to make changes, check your booking details and the terms and conditions of the travel providers. Some changes may result in 100% cancellation charge. If you are able to make changes to your booking, you will be responsible for paying all fees and charges that result from Ebookers, Expedia and third party travel providers. Expedia’s change administration fees are outlined in the table below. 

Can I receive a refund for my Ebookers reservation?

 If you are permitted to cancel or change your Ebookers trip, after paying the necessary fees to all parties, you will be transferred the relevant amounts to the original source of payment you used to book your trip. Again, it is not guaranteed that you will receive all or any of the costs you paid for your reservation. You may have to pay 100% cancellation charges and lose all of the money you payed Ebookers for your trip. Does this seem outrageously expensive? Because it is! You will have to pay change or cancellation fees to not only Ebookers which are not clearly specified, but to Expedia and the Travel Providers. You may end up losing most or all the money you paid for your reservation, if you are even able to change or cancel. 

Luckily, you have another option! Have you ever thought of selling your booking to another traveller and receiving your refund this way? All you need to do is change the names on your reservation to the person you are selling it to and pay the associated name change fees. 

If you are based in the European Union, Ebookers is obligated to allow you to change the names of the travellers on a package holiday, thanks to the European Package Travel Directive. Sometimes they can do this for the whole booking, sometimes they may not be able to change the names for the flights – this will depend on your airline. You can check our list of airlines, which allow name changes to see if yours does. 

If you have a package holiday but cannot change the name of the flight, you can still change the name on the hotel booking and at least sell that. It is still much better than paying 100% cancellation charges!  

If you are allowed to change the passenger name for your flight, your airline will always charge you a name change fee. Hotels usually do not charge anything for name changes. You can change the passenger names via your online account or by calling Ebookers directly. The price to change the name of a passenger on the booking will be shown to you before you process the request, so you will know exactly how much it will cost you.
